Meta has officially introduced a new policy in India requiring SEBI verification for all securities and investment-related ads. Starting July 31, 2025, advertisers running financial or investment ads must verify both the beneficiary (who benefits from the ad) and the payer (who funds the ad) with SEBI registration.
Ads without proper verification risk being rejected, and many advertisers—even those outside the financial sector—are reporting issues. Meta has also provided an alternative business verification process for advertisers who don’t fall under SEBI but still face ad disapprovals.
This step aims to increase transparency, protect users from misleading financial promotions, and ensure only verified businesses can run financial ads on Facebook and Instagram.
